From Camera Dept to Production Office

Since I was young, I wanted to make films. My father was a Senior Art Director for an advertising firm, and when I was on his sets, under the lights, watching the camera team and the set dressers build their worlds, I knew it was for me. I went from my father sets, to public access to film school at the Savannah College of  Art and Design. I was one of two women who studied Steadicam &  Dolly operating in my class. My dream was to be a camera operator, and I was for a time, until new opportunities came my way. I worked in every position I was offered, dipping into radio, television,  events, public speaking, and starting my own company along the way. Until I found myself where I am today in the production office. All of that experience has served me well, but there is always something more on the next page.

But Wait, There's More!

Alecia Orsini Lebeda is an experienced Line Producer with nearly 20 years in the film industry, specializing in bringing productions to life efficiently and creatively. Her deep knowledge of production logistics, budgeting, and crew management has made her a sought-after collaborator.

Throughout her career, Alecia has worn many creative hats, including Director, Production Designer, Graphic Designer, Camera Operator, and Voiceover Artist. She has also worked as an Audio Engineer for PRX’s The World, public radio’s longest-running daily global news program, as well as for other NPR affiliate stations. She is a prominent voice in the region's film community as President Emerita of Women in Film and Video of New England.

She also devoted time to Save MA Film Jobs, working behind the scenes for the grassroots organization supporting the Film Tax Incentives in the state of Massachusetts. She's a staunch advocate, utilizing her experience and platform

to amplify the voices of the underserved within the film industry such as women

of color and members of the LGBTQI+ communities.

Recently, Alecia joined the film department at Lesley University as an Adjunct Professor, continuing her commitment to mentoring the next generation of filmmakers. Beyond the classroom, she actively supports programs that break down barriers for underrepresented creatives, believing that fresh, diverse voices strengthen storytelling.

FUN FACT

I’m a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and an excellent partner for trivia. I could probably quote most of "The West Wing." I enjoy travel, hiking, and photography. I can drive a stick shift and as the grand daughter of a teamster, I’m very comfortable behind the wheel of a box truck.

Her work includes projects such as High Tide with Marco Pigossi, James Bland, and Marisa Tomei; Hello Beautiful with Tricia Helfer and Tarek Bishara; and The Arborist, with Lucy Walters, Will Lyman, and Hudson West.

She is the proud parent of two rambunctious boys, Finn and Sawyer with her partner of 21 years Scott Lebeda. As a family they love to get outside for a random adventure, or stay in and listen to a baseball game while crafting.
